Indications and Warnings
Indication
- Pre-Op is used in the pre-operative dietary management of patients undergoing surgery (ERAS PROTOCOL), but additional fluid should be advised. To be determined by a clinician or dietitian depending as per the recommendations of a healthcare professional.
Warnings and precautions
- Use under medical supervision only.
- Suitable from 3 years of age onwards.
- Not suitable for intravenous use.
- For Enteral use only (orally or through tube feeding)
- Not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition
- Use with caution in children.
- Use with caution in patients with diabetes Mellitus.
- Use with caution in patients with delayed gastric emptying.
Instructions for Use
Preparation
- Pour one 50g sachet into a cup or jug.
- Pour 400ml of liquid into the cup or jug and stir continuously until dissolved.
- Pour the drink into a large glass or beaker and drink.

- Oral / Tube Feeding
- Each hospital may have their own recommended time to consume pre-op, so it is advised to check with your healthcare professional.
- Mixing Ratio: To be determined by the healthcare professional and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient.
