Indications and Warnings

Indication

For the dietary management of disorders in branched chain amino acid metabolism (Maple syrup urine disease).

Warnings and precautions

Not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition
Must be used under medical supervision.
Not to be used by individuals without disorders in branched chain amino acid metabolism.
Not suitable for parenteral use
Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia
For children over 1 year of age, adolescents and adults with disorders in branched chain amino acid metabolism.
Do not boil mixture or use terminal sterilisation.
Never use a microwave oven to warm formula.
Serious burns can result.

Instructions for Use

Preparation

Add 13 (3 scoops) MSUD B formula to 90 ml drinking water (warm or at room temperature, approximately 40°C to 50°C)
Stir well or mix in a shaker.
Prepare feed always fresh and discard unfinished feeds.
Please watch dental care, especially before bedtime.

Directions for use

Oral / Tube Feeding
The daily amount of MSUD B formula required should be divided into 3 to 5 single portions (prepared with water according to instruction) and should be taken with calculated amounts of other food.
Diets with MSUD B formula must contain adequate amounts of energy, essential fatty acids, isoleucine, leucine and valine to meet daily requirements
The recommended dosage and timing of intake is dependent on the age, bodyweight, and medical condition of the patient, and should be determined by a dietitian or clinician only.
Mixing ratio - Depending on specific needs of each individual, preparation will vary as prescribed by healthcare personnel, Dietitians or medical practitioner.

Storage and Product Details

Store in a cool, dry place (5-25°C).
Always replace the lid after use.
Once opened, use within two weeks.
