Ingredients

Skimmed cow’s milk; demineralized whey (cow’s milk); vegetable oils (sunflower, coconut and rapeseed/canola); lactose (cow’s milk); maltodextrin; galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS); arachidonic acid (ARA) oil powder; docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) oil powder (plant source); thickeners: starch and locust bean gum (INS 410); minerals (calcium carbonate, potassium phosphate, calcium chloride, magnesium sulfate, sodium chloride, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper gluconate, manganese gluconate, sodium selenite and potassium iodide); acidity regulator: potassium hydroxide (INS 525); vitamins (C, E, niacin, pantothenic acid, A, thiamin, pyridoxine, riboflavin, folic acid, K, biotin, D and B12); taurine; choline bitartrate; inositol; L-carnitine; emulsifier: sunflower lecithin (INS 322(i)); antioxidants: mixed tocopherols (INS 307b) and ascorbyl palmitate (INS 304).

Indications and Warnings

Indication

• Gentle Start AR is a thickened milk formula specifically designed to meet the nutritional needs of infants with gastroesophageal reflux and severe regurgitation issues with dual thickening agent (locust bean gum and starch). The source of protein in Gentle Start AR is Cow's milk.

Warnings and precautions

• Breast milk is the best food for infants and is recommended for as long as possible during infancy.
• Good maternal nutrition is essential to prepare and maintain breastfeeding.
• If breastfeeding is not applied, an infant milk may be used according to health professional advice.
• Must be used under medical supervision.
• Not suitable for parenteral use
• Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia
• Not suitable for patients with soya or cows' milk intolerance.
• For oral use only.
• Suitable as a sole source of nutrition.
• Do not boil mixture or use terminal sterilization.
• Never use a microwave oven to warm formula.
• Serious burns can result.

Instructions for Use

Preparation

• 30ml cooled, previously boiled water.
• Wash hand thoroughly.
• Clean and sterilize the feeding bottle, the teat, and all used materials.
• Boil clean drinking water for 5 minutes then let it cool down to 40°C, or heat clean fresh bottled water with the low mineral content to 40°C.
• Pour required amount of hot water into a sterilized feeding bottle.
• Add measure correct quantity of powder into the feeding bottle using only the measuring scoop provided in the tin.
• Always ensure the scoopfuls are levelled and that the powder is not packed.
• Close the feeding bottle, shake well until the powder is dissolved completely.
• Let formula cool to lukewarm temperature (37°C), test the temperature by shaking a few drops onto the side of your wrist.
• Prepare bottle feed always fresh and discard unfinished feeds.
• Please monitor dental care, especially before bedtime.

• Advice from your healthcare professional. For infants aged aver 6months, Gentle Start 2 follow-on milk is available to meet their changing needs as a part of a diversified diet.

Storage and Product Details

• Store in a cool, dry place (5-25°C) away from direct sunlight.
• Always replace the lid after use.
• Once opened, use within three weeks.
